ABOUT
Amethyst is a meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual and physical planes to promote calm, balance and peace. It is also used to eliminate impatience.
At Amethyst Yoga, I specialise in Forrest Yoga having trained with Ana Forrest in 2019.
Since then, I have developed my own unique style within the practice, focusing on the connection between breath and movement.
This emphasis on breath helps ease postures, deepen stretches, and foster relaxation.

About Camilla
My love for yoga began in 2009 during a time in my life when I sought peace and tranquillity. Years later, in 2016, I decided to build a yoga studio, and my passion for teaching followed. I completed my Forrest Yoga Training in 2019, Nidra Training in 2020, and a Mentorship Program in 2021/22.
I'm deeply passionate about the mind-body connection and the freedom that comes from understanding and nurturing both. Yoga fills me with breath, stretch, balance, healing, fun, and a sense of community.
In January 2023, I completed a Yoga for Cancer training course, which allows me to support those going through cancer treatments with tailored practices.
I’ve learned that many people don’t realise how interconnected the mind and body truly are. I never used to think of them as one, but since I started to, it has made a profound difference in my life. Now, I want to help others discover this connection within themselves.
About The Studio
I founded Amethyst’s Newbury yoga studio in 2016 after a barn next to my home burned down.
As a long-time passionate yogi, rather than simply rebuilding the barn as it was, I saw an opportunity. I designed and built Amethyst Yoga on the site of the old barn as a way to share my passion and knowledge of yoga’s benefits.
I’ve always believed that yoga is at its best when practised in natural surroundings. At Amethyst, I combine those natural surroundings with people-focused, empowering yoga that works for everyone and everybody.
I have since relocated to a more intimate studio in the lovely village of Inkpen.
The Approach
I believe in a practical approach to yoga that welcomes everyone, including absolute beginners. My focus is on movement, strength, and resilience. With regular yoga practice, you can achieve more and do more throughout your life.
I’m passionate about the power of connecting body and mind, focusing our strength while working together as a group to connect with ourselves.
I also believe yoga should be enjoyed, not endured. My clients feel the benefits from just one class a week, and those who can commit to two, three, or more classes find the results to be life-changing.
